Reading This Book Could Change Your Fitness Game

Brady's Life Mantra
Reading this book could change your fitness—and life—game.

Sick of hearing about Tom Brady yet? We didn't think so. His four-game suspension was recently overturned (read more about that here), but that doesn't mean he didn't suffer a ton of stress and nail biting leading up to that decision. But luckily he had some tools to deal with it—four of them in fact.

Brady told WEEI in an interview yesterday that he read a self-help book, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, nine years ago and it's become "kind of a mantra for my life." As to how he "turned the other cheek" in the midst of the deflategate scandal, Brady said: "One of the mantras in the book is don't take things personally because a lot of times it's not about me personally, Tom Brady."

Apparently Gisele Bundchen, Brady's wife (and also one of the 10 Hottest Victoria's Secret Angels Ever), also regularly reads the book and may have been the one to turn Brady on to it, Boston.com reports

If the fact that Tom Brady has read it isn't enough to convince you that this isn't just some woo-woo bogus self-help book on par with something like horoscopes, know this: The concept is actually quite simple and the tone is far from "preachy." It essentially distills some important parts of ancient wisdoem down in to four sentences (below, via GoodRead.com):

1. Be impeccable with your word. (AKA: Have some damn integrity)

2. Don't take anything personally. (Tom's mantra)

3. Don't make assumptions (You know what they say...)

4. Always do your best (Do we need to explain this one?)

We won't give any more away—you'll need to buy it and read it for yourself to figure out how to implement those tennents into your own life and learn why Tom Brady keeps coming back for a refresher year after year.
